Office For Mac

SkyDrive connects Office for Mac to the cloud

We often use many devices throughout the day to access, create or share documents. You might create a PowerPoint presentation using Office for Mac at home, continue working on your Windows PC at the office, and then access and share your files on the go.

Now with the SkyDrive for Mac OS X Lion* preview, SkyDrive for Windows, and the release of SkyDrive for iPad, you can save and store your important documents or other files in the SkyDrive folder in Finder and access them from anywhere.

Here is a short video showing what you can do with the new SkyDrive:

We also created a page to show how SkyDrive can help you access and share documents, photos, and notes across Apple devices and PCs. There are even a few tips for people switching from iDisk.

Please try out the SkyDrive preview and give us feedback on Twitter.

During the preview, the SkyDrive icon will appear in your dock. To hide it, follow these instructions.

I’d love to use SkyDrive but I’m afraid you left us Snow Leopard users out in the cold!

  2. Stefano says:

Excel 2011 for Mac Italian version has these two icon bugs in the Preferences:

Words should be attached as “Visualizzazione” and “Completamento”.

The E and O letters are going in the lower line… hope this gets fixed in the next update, version 14.2.2 still has it.

  3. Brad Lochore says:

I understand that Office 2011 will not sync with address book under lion… why would I want to risk time and effort with anything else from MS when such a basic problem as this has not been solved?
Until you sort out these basic problems then I am sticking with Address Book and Mail for now working seamlessly in ICloud. MS has to understand that you have to get the basics working … I do not have time dealing with clunky solutions to poor software issues all the time.

  4. Bob says:

I have tried to sign up for the SkyDrive service after downloading the app on my Mac. After filling out the form and clicking ‘Accept’, the form just sits there with the word ‘Working’ next to a spinning green icon. It has been doing this for 19 hours (no exaggeration). I have since retried and the same thing is happening again. Is this what is meant by Preview?

  5. dasein says:

@Bob: Same problem. Nothing from Microsoft works well anymore.

Over a year and a half later, still no sync with iCal, Google or any other calendar offering. I mean, really.

I sacehred a bunch of sites and this was the best.
